Course Overview:
The State of Michigan is requiring health care providers to complete 1-hour of continuing education in the area of “PAIN”. This session is being offered to all attendees to ensure an opportunity to meet the continuing education requirements for licensure.

The presentation aims to assure that each participant is able to:

Identify the components of pain assessment in Occupational & Physical Therapy
Recognize the physical and psychosocial elements of pain treatment
Identify effective therapy treatment approaches to reduce painful conditions
Identify effective patient education tools to provide skilled instruction and training to manage pain

Instructor:
Cathleen Johnson OTD, OTRL, FMiOTA is a Divisional Rehabilitation Director for a large health care organization in which she provides operational and clinical oversight for multiple post-acute rehabilitation centers across various states. Cathleen has over 25 years of health care experience with a deep understanding of the roles of the clinician, the department head, and operator. She was appointed as the Clinical Rehabilitation Consultant for her company which allows her to provide guidance on documentation practices, clinical training and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Among her many roles, she also is a graduate level professor for the Occupational Therapy Department at Western Michigan University. Cathleen is a dynamic speaker that has trained thousands of clinicians nationwide which led her to develop Therapists Training Therapists.
